For Immediate Release Vision Link Wireless Nurse Call System® Becomes The First Wireless System To Be Approved For Use And Installed in A California Skilled Care Community HAYDEN, ID — March 6, 2007 — Systems Technologies, manufacturer of wireless nurse call systems listed and approved for “Hospital Signaling and Nurse Call Equipment”, announces the first wireless nurse call system installed in a skilled care facility in the State of California under the approval process of OSHPD (Office of Statewide Planning and Development). Selected by Walnut Manor, a long term care community in Anaheim, California, Vision Link provides cost savings, accountability and flexibility desired by administration along with enhanced productivity for staff and improved safety for residents. Sondra Coughlin, Executive Director, comments: “We have just installed the Vision Link wireless call system in our Care Center. We are so excited about the reports that we can run as well as its so much quieter in our facility. The nurses are very happy with the new system. They are aware that we will be looking at the reports to see if we can reassign nurses to residents that need more care to balance out the load.” Until recently, wireless systems were not permitted in skilled nursing facilities either for replacement or for new construction. Systems Technologies submitted their materials including and certifications to the CDDIC (Care Delivery and Design Improvement Committee) at the quarterly meeting held April 18, 2006 for review. This committee consists of members from state agencies including DHS and OSHPD as well as architectural firms involved in healthcare planning and construction and executive personnel from the long term care community. Committee Chair Doug Pancake stated “This is a significant change from our prior discussions on wireless call systems. The Committee appreciates Systems Technologies for securing the 1069 UL approval and DHS and OSHPD for recognizing how these systems can improve resident care”. About Systems Technologies Systems Technologies introduced the first wireless nurse call system in 1995 and is today the market leader in the manufacturing of wireless nurse call systems for skilled care and long term care facilities. There are now more Vision Link® systems installed in long term care facilities nationwide than any other comparable system. The success of this line, plus additional products for healthcare, education, industry and government including MicroVision® wireless call systems, VisionPro® wireless emergency systems, VisionTrack® locator systems and integrated patient, staff and asset tracking has resulted in continuous company growth and product enhancement.
