Wireless Call Cord converts a patient station on any manufacturer’s nurse call system to wireless pendant operation. The VL440 includes a receiver, a power supply and a cord that plugs directly into the 1/4” jack on any patient station. While the Wireless Call Cord is plugged in to the patient station, pressing the button on the pendant transmitter associated with the station will annunciate on the existing nurse call system console exactly the same as if the patient station had been activated. The VL440 additionally provides a jack for the existing patient station call cord so that it continues to annunciate normally. Wireless Call Cord may alternately be used to provide wireless bed exit notification at the console when equipped with a VL965 transmitter and bed exit sensorpad.

Architects' and Engineers' Specifications
The nurse call system shall provide 900MHz spread spectrum wireless call cord capability using personal transmitters for patient signaling. When the button on a wireless pendant transmitter is pressed by the patient, or when a wireless call cord is used in conjunction with a bed exit notification pad, the resulting call shall annunciate at the nurse call system console with the same characteristics and priority level as a patient station call.
